Acceptance
By using CourseSnag, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms are between you and the CourseSnag project operator, not Cornell University, Discord, Cloudflare, or Amazon Web Services.
The service
CourseSnag helps users view public Cornell Class Roster information and track selected course sections.
- Browser Alerts check from your browser and require the tab and computer to remain active.
- Discord Alerts store a Discord-linked watchlist, check it while Discord Active monitoring is running, and send qualifying status alerts by Discord direct message.
Discord Alerts may enter seasonal standby outside course-planning periods. Features may be changed, limited, interrupted, or discontinued at any time.
Accounts and eligibility
Browser Alerts do not require an account. Discord Alerts require a permitted Discord account, a server where you can add the CourseSnag bot, and direct messages that the bot can deliver. The bot requests no server permissions. You are responsible for activity through your browser session and for keeping your devices and Discord account secure.
Do not connect another person's Discord account or track courses on another person's behalf without permission.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- abuse, overload, probe, scrape, or disrupt CourseSnag or its providers;
- circumvent rate limits, access controls, seasonal controls, or account boundaries;
- attempt to access another user's watchlist, session, messages, or data;
- use CourseSnag to violate Cornell, Discord, or other applicable rules;
- misrepresent CourseSnag alerts as enrollment confirmations or official Cornell communications; or
- use the service for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or commercial spam activity.
Access may be restricted or terminated when reasonably necessary to protect users, providers, or the service.
Course data and third-party services
Cornell Class Roster and Discord are independent third-party services. Their information, availability, interfaces, and rules can change without notice. Your use of those services remains governed by their terms.
CourseSnag is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cornell University or Discord. Cornell remains the authoritative source for course availability and enrollment.
Alerts and enrollment
Course status can change between checks. Alerts can be delayed, duplicated, blocked, or missed because of upstream data, network conditions, rate limits, Discord settings, seasonal standby, software errors, or other causes.
An open alert does not reserve a seat or guarantee eligibility. CourseSnag does not enroll users, bypass restrictions, hold seats, or interact with Student Center. You are responsible for confirming current information and completing enrollment through Cornell's official systems.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
CourseSnag is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available," without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or successful enrollment, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the CourseSnag project operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or enrollment-related losses arising from use of or inability to use CourseSnag. Some jurisdictions do not allow every disclaimer or limitation, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as the service changes. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the revised terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
Questions can be directed to the CourseSnag project operator through the shared CourseSnag Discord server used for alerts.
